Gulmohar

The project uses the metaphor of the “Garden City” and the Gulmohar tree as the design identity for the Bangalore International Center.

The “Bangalore International Centre” – BIC , was our first competition as studioXS. The brief highlighted the desing needed to be international, but we wanted to being an identity that was very Bangalore to the design .  At that time we were working out of our home office . It was summer and the Gulmohar leaning into the living room balcony window was in full bloom. It was there staring at us in the face – the Gulmohar. The Flame of the Forest. This identified Bangalore / Bangalore summer and the direction for the Bangalore Internation Center.
